frequently asked questions
can i stay with my dog?
No. This is both for insurance reasons and behavioural. Your dog will be better behaved and far more open to the grooming process if they do not feel they need to protect you.
do you use sedatives to groom dogs?
No. Sedatives are only available from your vet and it is illegal for groomers to use them. One Fur All will not groom a sedated pet, if your pet needs sedation, we will refer you a vet.
Do you offer discounts for multiple dogs?
No. Unfortunately we are unable to offer discounts for multiple dogs as the grooming process still requires the same amount of time and product and we account for this in our pricing.
why do you collect a bank or credit card number for bookings?
Unfortunately, this has become required due to people making bookings and not attending them or letting us know. Without a minimum of 24 hours’ notice, we cannot fill these slots and as a small business, we cannot afford this and would not be able to continue operating. As such, any no-show or same day cancellation will result in 100% of the booking fee being charged to the card we have on file. Cancellations made with more than 24 hours’ notice, are not subject to any charges.
how long will it take?
Grooming is not like baking a cake where you have a set cook time. It is an invasive process and your dog may require breaks to safely complete their groom. For a small dog's bath & haircut. we will generally require upwards of 2 hours to safely complete the job. The required time increases quite a lot with larger dogs, dogs that need extra breaks or dogs that have any matting. Pease always wait for your groomer to tell you they are finished, before returning to our salon to collect your dog.
Do I need to make an appointment?
Yes, all services including nail clipping require a booking. One Fur All is by appointment only for all customers and we do not accept any walk-in customers. Please book online or send us a text to organise a booking. Please note all new customers will be required to book online or fill out an intake form.
Do you express anal glands?
No. Anal gland expression is no longer recommended as best practice and can cause damage to your dog if done incorrectly or when not required. Anal glands should only be expressed by your vet if they think it is required.
What if I don't like the groom?
Please let us know as soon as you notice something you do not like, or think is wrong. If possible, we will fix anything you do not like before you leave or within 24 hours of the groom being completed. After 24 hours, we will not be able to fix anything until the next groom, but we will note any concerns on your pet’s file and address them at the next visit. One Fur All does not offer any refunds for services rendered.
Do you groom show dogs?
No. We are pet dog groomers only.
Do you groom cats?
No. We are pet dog groomers only.
Why does it cost more
for my dog's groom
than my own haircut?
This is for many reasons, a few of them being: You sit still for your hairdresser while they are using sharp tools and move when they ask you to. Your hairdresser usually doesn’t need to wash your hair first. Your hairdresser doesn’t clean you butt and genitals – If they do, they are a keeper. Your hairdresser doesn’t check your entire body for new lumps and skin conditions. GOOD dog grooming products are expensive, and our time is valuable, we have to charge accordingly.
